The singer asked underage girls to “prove” that they’re his number one fan through sexually explicit videos
YouTube star Austin Jones has been arrested and charged in Chicago federal court for two counts of child pornography. The twenty-four year old singer who is known for his acappela covers of emo and scene bands was arrested Monday night after landing at O’Hare International Airport.
Court documents say that Jones communicated with two underage female victims over Facebook in August 2016 and May 2017. When talking to the 14- and 15- year-old girls, he asked them to “prove” to him that they were his biggest fans by sending him sexually explicit videos.
This is not the first time Jones has been accused of asking his fans to send him videos. In May 2015, multiple fans of his came forward saying that he asked them to send him twerking videos and even went so far as to send them videos of himself teaching them how to twerk.
At the time, Jones made a statement on Facebook where he said:
“I’d have conversations online with girls that would involve me asking them to create a video of themselves twerking. Sometimes I’d make videos go myself doing some twerk moves in return. Here’s the truth: I NEVER asked them to do anything more than sending a twerking video. Nothing ever went beyond that.”
While there’s no understanding how this guy thought it was okay to ask 14-year-olds for sexual videos in the first place, you’d think he would’ve learned after being caught the first time. In his Facebook post and in a confessional video on You tube, Jones apologized to fans, and admitted to being embarrassed by the whole thing.
